Grace Marie Finchum Gregory 91 passed away May 3, 2007 in Dumas, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Duane Smith, family friend officiating.

Grace was born January 11, 1916 in Brice, Texas to Wayne Carlisle and Sarah LeVan El Zettie Rexrode. On October 19, 1935 in Clarendon, Texas she married Raymond L. Finchum who preceded her in death. She married Elmer H. Gregory on April 12, 1979 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and he also preceded her in death. During her many years as a baker in the Dumas Public Schools and her home business there were always long lines waiting for her hot rolls and homemade pies. Graces cooking gained her accolades when she christened the bakery at the opening of BSA Hospital in Amarillo. After retiring from BSA, Grace joined her good friend Mrs. Watkins in the kitchen at Park Place Towers in Amarillo and then managed the cafeteria at Sundown Lane Elementary in Randall County until she was past 75 years of age. Her love for baking and her artistic abilities were realized in her part time business of catering weddings. She spent many nights working until dawn on her masterpieces to the delight of many brides and grooms. She was skilled in many art mediums from oil painting, reverse glass painting, stained glass, sewing and crocheting, flower arranging to every type of hobby one can imagine. Most of all Grace loved to dance.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Winnie Mae Floyd, Mary ElDora Tillie Anglin, Nellie Jo Moss; one brother, William Carlisle Rexrode.

Survivors include: three daughters,Sarah J. Lummus of Dumas; Barbara E. Bell and husband, R. Nelson of Katy, TX; Patricia M.
