Clyde Tims, 79, of Sunray, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 4 o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Sunray Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Hilton officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Clyde was born July 2, 1937 in Lela Lake, TX to Leslie and Nellie (Perdue) Tims. He met Linda Miller and they married October 27, 1957 in Friona, TX. They made Sunray their home and attended Sunray Baptist Church.
Clyde could always be found helping others, he loved to work and according to the family, he was the definition of work. Clyde enjoyed helping with the Lion’s club and he did not know any strangers. He was the Farmer of the Year in 2004 and served on the Sunray CO OP board. Clyde could often be found eating breakfast at Judy’s Café, his office away from home. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter: Sally Ruth Hays.
Clyde is survived by his wife Linda of the home; daughter: Evelyn Hill of Boerne, TX; sons: Chuck Tims of Plainview, David and Dusty Tims both of Sunray; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
