Jean “MomMom” Turner, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 23, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Wagoner, former pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Jean was born August 11, 1933 in Borger, Texas to Homer and Martha Harrison. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1951. On January 20, 1968 she married Billy Turner in Stratford. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1987. She was a bookkeeper for several businesses before her retirement. She was the #1 fan for the Stratford Elks especially the football team. She loved to work puzzles and was a devoted friend, Mom, and Grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Jean had been a resident of Stratford all her life and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Jay, and Hoy Harrison.

Survivors include; daughters, Teri Evans and husband, Ray of Amarillo, Lu Ann Galla of Stratford; son, Jerry Sherrod and wife, Cindy of New Braunfels; brother, Henry Harrison and wife, Dorene of Stratford; grandchildren, Casie, Shane, Cristi, Coby, Kamber, Scotty and Jaysie; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial be to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Panhandle Chapter, 6222 Canyon Dr, Amarillo, TX 79109.

The family will be at 1307 N. Chestnut in Stratford.
