Robert “Uncle Bob” Graciano Garcia, 55, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 27 at Iglesia Bautista Hispana with Rev. Ernesto Rodriguez, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery with flag detail by American Legion Post #224 of Dumas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Robert “Uncle Bob” was born October 24, 1954 in Joliet, Illinois to Robert and Angela Garcia. He served in the US Army, 101st Airborne Division from 1972 to 1976. He was very generous and made many friends during his life’s journey. Robert grew up in Joliet and moved to Dumas in 1983.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cleave Garcia.
Survivors include; his sons, Christopher Garcia and wife, Shelia of North Carolina and Steven Rey Garcia of Oklahoma; his daughter, Susan Guzman of Harlingen; sisters, Roberta Lopez and Debra Medina and husband, Fernando all of Dumas; brother, Cyrus Garcia of Dumas; aunts, Vera Martinez of Joliet, IL, and Juanita Serrato and husband Jose of Dumas; grandchildren, Christopher Jr, Alina and Cellia; his best friend, Sammy the dog; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family suggests memorials be to the VFW Post #9022, 330 W. 1st, Dumas, TX 79029 or to the American Legion Post #224, 814 Normandy, Dumas, TX 79029.
The family will be at 1215 Zauk in Dumas.
