Genell worked part-time at Dumas Memorial Hospital until 1971 and full-time from 1971 to 1989. She delivered many babies through the years, including all but one of her grandchildren.
Genell was our strongest support and our family’s biggest source of strength. She was fiercely protective of her family and welcomed any new member with open arms. Her home and life were always full of kids from her own kids and their friends to the friends of her grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and quilter She was a wonderful cook and was well known for her hot rolls. She could cook for an army and make it look effortless and no one ever left the Galloway home hungry. We affectionately called her Mom, Grandma, Aunt Nell, Sis, and friend. Genell was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxilary.
Genell attended countless sports activities through the years. She was our biggest cheerleader for any and all activities we were involved in.

It is such an honor to have known and worked with Mrs. Galloway. She taught me a lot about the newborns in the delivery room while working with her at Dumas Memorial Hospital. I have many fond memories of her grace, strength, integrity, and dignity as she cared for the patients, nurses, and the other employees at Dumas Memorial Hospital. May her family and all her loved ones carry on the great legacy she has left.

Janice, your mother was a special lady, with the patience of a saint, and the smile of an angle. Yes, I remember her from all those years ago in Cactus. My prayers are with you and your family in this time of need.
