Tom “Daddy-O” Ewers, 81, of Stratford, died Sunday, November 18, 2018. Graveside services will be at 10 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Stratford Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Anderson, pastor of 1st Assembly of God officiating, assisted by Tommy Long. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Stratford.

Tom was born August 2, 1937, in Turkey Ford, OK to Everett and Josie Waddle Ewers. He was united in marriage to Dixie DeVorss in 1955 at Las Vegas, NM and had been a resident of Stratford for 57 years. Tom worked for Walter Lasley Feedlot for 26 years and later drove a truck. He loved animals and spending time at his place. He loved his grandkids deeply and loved working with them in 4-H with their show pigs. He was affectionately called “Daddy-O” by his grandkids and everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Theresa Ewers; brother, Bill Ewers; and sisters: Edith McMillan, Peggy Penrod, Sue DeVorss and Betty Jo Perry.

Tom is survived by his wife, Dixie, of the home; sons: Tommy Ewers, Jerry Ewers and wife Margaret all of Stratford, and John Ewers and wife, Jennifer of Kenton, OK; sister: Katie Allen of Miami, Ok; grandchildren: Marca Ewers, Johnna Ewers, Cody Ewers, Jared Ewers and Ryan Ewers; and great-grandchildren: Rylie Ewers, Kylie Ewers and Gavin Ewers.

The family suggests with gratitude memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis TN 38105.
