Adelina T. Catano, 85 of Dumas passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The Rosary will be prayed at 6 o’clock in the evening on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Morrison Memorial Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Luis Lopez as celebrant. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Adelina was born on March 31, 1941, in Lyford, Texas, the daughter of Encanarcion and Eulalia (Layton) Torrez. She built a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to others. On July 27, 1958, she married Alejandro “Condo” Catano, Sr., beginning a marriage that remained a cherished part of her life until his death in 2010.
Adelina worked for many years in housekeeping at the hospital, serving with steady dedication. Beyond her work, she found joy in the simple and meaningful things that brought people together. She loved sewing, dancing, cooking, and she especially treasured caring for her family. Preparing meals for those she loved was one of the many ways she expressed her warmth and generosity. Her family was at the center of her life, and she adored them deeply. She was also a faithful member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where her faith was an important part of who she was.
In addition to her husband, Condo, she was preceded in death by her parents; infant son Ricardo and son Ricky; 13 brothers and sisters.
Adelina is survived by her sons: David Catano and wife Cyndi of Bushland, TX, Alex Catano Jr. and wife Maria of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Racquel Roman and husband Israel, David Catano II and wife Kim, Moses Suarez, Susie Casanova and husband Eric, Raquel Gonzalez, Julie Carbajal, Ashley Guillen and husband Emet, Hope Pasley and husband Hunter and Ricky Dale Catono; along with 33 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
