Angelica was born on July 18, 1947, in Robstown, Texas, to Ricardo and Maria (Gonzales) Ybarra. She was united in marriage to Victor C. Quintanilla on July 23, 1965, in Floydada, Texas. A few years later, the couple moved to Dumas, where they made their home, raised their family, and built a life rooted in love, faith, and hard work. Angelica and Victor shared 60 years of marriage and raised three children together.
Angelica worked at Swift for 23 years, where she was affectionately known as “Mr. Angie” by her coworkers. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming the first female supervisor at Swift—a milestone that reflected her strength, determination, and leadership.
She was a dedicated and loving wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Angelica cherished time spent with her family and friends and enjoyed going to bingo and visiting casinos. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Maria Ybarra, and her brother, Benny Gonzales.
Angelica is survived by her husband of 60 years, Victor C. Quintanilla of Dumas; her son, Victor Quintanilla, Jr. and wife Pam of Dumas; her daughter, Priscilla Ortega and Rene of Pueblo, Colorado; and her son, Steven Quintanilla of Dumas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
