Anita Mae Dye, 86 of Dumas, passed away just hours after her husband on Friday, September 13, 2024. Memorial services will be held at 11 o’clock in the morning on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Matt Price, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Private family interment will be held at Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Anita was born on August 30, 1938, in Bozeman, MT to William and Edna (Keltner) Showalter. The family moved to Dumas when Anita was six years old and she went on to graduate from Dumas High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Bobby Dye on April 25, 1958, in Dumas, TX where they would make their home and raise their daughter Crisann. Anita was a loan officer and a vice president of both First State Bank and Sun Bank for over 40 years. She also ran a travel program through the bank that led to her traveling and seeing much of the world. Anita was an avid quilter and also was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bobby.
Anita is survived by her daughter: Crisann Skinner and Gary Edwards of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Cale Skinner and wife Claire of Wylie, TX; brother: Harry Kuder and wife Annette of Baytown, TX.
The family suggests with gratitude that in lieu of customary remembrances, donations be made to the Dumas Cemetery Association, Po Box 791, Dumas TX 79029.
