Annis Marie Hataway

Annis Marie Hataway, 79 of Sunray, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Sunray Church of Christ with LeRoy Farris, brother of Annis, officiating and Johnathan Zerby, pastor of the church, assisting. Interment will follow in Lane Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. Annis was born March 22, 1937 in the family home near Rockwood Texas to W.L. 'Bill' and Addie (Bingham) Farris. When she was 15 the family moved to Sunray. She was united in marriage to her husband Harold Hataway on January 9, 1953 in Sunray; he preceded her in death in November of this year. Annis was a nurse at Moore County Hospital District where she worked in the emergency room and later she worked in OB where she helped deliver countless babies. Annis loved to camp with her husband and grandchildren. Some of her favorite times were jeeping on the coast with her husband. In her younger years she was very athletic, competing in volleyball and softball. She was a member of Sunray Church of Christ where she was actively involved in numerous roles. She taught Bible School, helped with Vacation Bible School and also served as the church camp nurse. She will be missed by all her family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her parents; son: Bruce Hataway; two sisters: Amy Dickens and Willie Sue Ward. Annis is survived by her sons: Glenn Hataway and wife Shirley of Sunray, Billy Hataway and wife Nancy of Denver, CO; daughter: Treva Hataway of Nocona, TX; brothers: Tim Farris of Amarillo, LeRoy Farris of Spearman, Bill Farris of Twin City, GA and Jerry Farris of Hedley; sister Yvonne Hataway of Sunray; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to Dig It Bible Camp, PO Box 397, Sunray TX, 79086.
