April Patzt Ward born April 14, 1975, in Clovis, NM to Gary Patzt and Lanett Stanton Patzt. April was called home March 26, 2023. She had a personality that people could not help to be drawn to just as gravity pulls us to the ground. Upon meeting people it did not take long before she told them, “I love you,” as they parted ways. She moved to Dumas when she was in 5th grade and continued the rest of her life here. On August 30, 1997 she married Ricky Ward. April worked at J’s Liquor and while working there she not only had the opportunity to touch people’s lives she had a profound impact on so many that came to know her. She always was the type of person who would go beyond all to help whoever she could in need. Those who came to know April came to know her warmth and her endless capacity for love. One thing that so many of us will never forget is her amazing contagious laugh. She was a holder of several titles, mom, Gam, daughter, sister, friend, and wife. April loved her family and friends beyond all measure. Some people come into your life and are memorable, then there are some people that come into your life that when they go a hole is left that can never be truly filled. We love you April and will always cherish what a true blessing you were to so many.....

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Walter and Giesla Patzt of Logan, NM, grandparents Roy and Cleo Stanton of Texico, NM, and father Gary Patzt of Dumas, TX.

She is survived by mother Lanett Patzt of Dumas, brother Randy Patzt of Dumas, husband Ricky Ward of Dumas, son Austin Rhoades and wife Savannah Farni Rhoades and grandsons Creed and Gauge Rhoades of Borger, daughter Darrian Ward of Dumas, son Tre Ward of Dumas.
