Arlene McNeil

Arlene McNeil, 87, of Dumas, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, in Dumas. Services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at 2:00 PM in the First Baptist Church of Hereford with Rev. Kyle Streun, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Mrs. McNeil was born April 18, 1919, in Floydada, TX to A. B. and Buna Griffin Toler. On June 30, 1939, she married James Mac McNeil in Sweetwater, TX. She and her husband owned and operated the McNeil Furniture stores. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hereford and a resident of Hereford from 1964 until 2002 when she moved to Dumas. She was preceded in death by her husband James Mac McNeil in 1971. Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Copeland and husband, Bob of Dumas; one sister, Nina Golub of Lakewood, CO; four grandchildren, Jamille and Brian Hammer of Amarillo, Jennifer Mann of Tampa, FL, Mike and Lori Copeland of Dumas and Shaunalee Copeland of Denver, CO and eight great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials to Memorial Hospice, 224 E Second, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 209 Bennett in Dumas.
