Arnulfo “El Güero” Borunda Rivero, 92 of Sunray, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026. A Rosary will be held at 6 o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Morrison Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Luis Lopez as celebrant. Interment will follow at Brown Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
He was born on November 11, 1933, in Mexico to Crispin Borunda and Paula Rivero Arnulfo's journey spanned nearly 93 years, marked by devotion to family, enduring faith, and the cherished bonds of community.
Arnulfo’s life began in the heart of Mexico, where his enduring values and traditions were deeply rooted. Known to many as “El Güero,” he carried his heritage with grace, warmth, and humility throughout the many chapters of his life. He married Julieta Menchaca on February 2, 1958, in Chihuahua, MX. Arnulfo spent his time ranching in Mexico, and his journey eventually brought him to Sunray, Texas, a place he came to call home. He worked farming for Clyde Tims until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son: Jaime Eleazar Borunda, Sr.
Arnulfo is survived by his wife Julieta, of the home; children: Julieta Fierro and husband Ernesto of Sunray, TX, Teresa Lechuga and husband Luciano of Sunray, TX, Blanca Prieto and husband Victor of Midland, TX, Silvia Mendoza and husband Jubentino of Etter, TX, Bernardo Borunda and wife Martha of Lamesa, TX, Arnulfo Borunda Jr. and wife Leticia of Sunray, TX, Timothy Borunda and wife Reyna of Midland, TX; several grandchildren.

El Rosario se celebrará a las 6 de la tarde del martes 23 de junio de 2026 en la Morrison Memorial Chapel. Se celebrará una misa funeral a las 11 de la mañana del miércoles 24 de junio de 2026 en la iglesia católica de San Pedro y San Pablo, con el padre Luis López como oficiante.
