Arturo "Guero" Gutierrez

Arturo “Guero” Gutierrez, 69 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jesus Rivera, officiating. Cremation will follow. Guero’s family will receive friends from 5 o’clock in the afternoon until 8 o’clock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Guero was born on April 18, 1956, in Santa Cruz de Mayo, Chihuahua, Mexico to Urbano and Juana Madrid Gutierrez. He moved to Dumas at the age of 23 where he met and married Amanda Salcido. The couple made Dumas their home where Guero was employed as a yardman at JBS for over 46 years. He was known for being a hard worker but always with a great sense of humor. He also enjoyed working on his children’s and grandchildren’s cars. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Primer Iglesia Bautista.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Israel Gutierrez, Manuel Gutierrez, and Martin Gutierrez; grandchild: Angel Salcido.

Guero is survived by his wife Amanda, of the home; children: Patricia Venzor and husband Astolfo, Arturo Gutierrez, Jr., Veronica Gutierrez and fiancé Daniel Patterson and Graciella Gutierrez all of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Christian Gutierrez, Ezven Venzor, Aaron Venzor, Desi Gutierrez, Josh Lawrence, Millianie Galaviz, Matthew Galaviz, Matt Patterson, Kadyn Gonzales, Kylina Gonzales; his brother: Fidencio Gutierrez of El Rito, NM; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
