Baron Wilson Heck, 9 years of age from Sunray, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Sunray Baptist Church with Pastor Seth Seale and Pastor David McGaughy speaking. Interment will follow in Brown Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock in the afternoon until 7 o’clock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home in Dumas.
Baron was born on March 6, 2016, in Amarillo, TX to Morgan and Shannan (Blair) Heck and had just completed the third grade in Sunray. Baron was an exceptionally smart kid who would help the other kids in his class with their work. His parents could always count on him to enlighten them with random facts that he thought they should know. Baron enjoyed reading and doing experiments also. He loved people and was very selfless, always thinking of others. He played on many sports teams for the camaraderie and being a part of the team more than anything else. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Sunray.
Baron was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles and Ann Heck; uncles: Dewayne Heck and John Duggan; and an aunt: Belinda Heck.
Baron is survived by his parents: Morgan and Shannan Heck of the home; brothers: Sullivan Heck, Hesston Heck, Quade Heck and Emory Heck; grandparents: Sharon and Gene Frische of Dumas, TX along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and other extended family members.
The family suggests with gratitude that in lieu of customary remembrances that donations be made to the Bible Baptist Church Camp Funds or Sunray Methodist Church Camp Funds.
