Bessie Lou Etheredge

October 21, 1932 — July 4, 2022

Bessie Lou Etheredge, 89 of Dumas, formerly of Pampa, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Keith Hight, officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, TX under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Bessie was born on October 21, 1932, in Kirkland, TX to Welcome Walter and Myrtle Mae (Thomas) Lincycomb. On April 17, 1948, she married Jessie “Pete” Etheredge in Kirkland, TX; he preceded her in death in 2013. The couple lived in Pampa for over 65 years until they moved to Dumas in 2008. Bessie worked for Pampa School District in the cafeteria as a cook and later operated a laundromat.  Bessie enjoyed cooking for her family and church family.  She was an excellent piano player and could play any tune by ear.  Bessie was a Godly woman who was very active in church and church activities.  She was also always willing to play a game of cards and loved garage sales.

In addition to her husband, Pete she was preceded in death by her parents; son: Billy; all her brothers and sisters.

Bessie is survived by her son: Jessie Etheredge and wife Sherry of Pampa, TX; daughter: Barbara Mulanax of Dumas, TX; seven grandsons: Chad Etheredge, Brett Etheredge both of Pampa, Jarred Etheredge and wife Megan of South Africa, Clay Cunningham,  Casey Cunningham and wife Natalie, Andy Etheredge and wife Shelly all of Dumas and Billy Bob Etheredge and wife Shalotta of Amarillo; one granddaughter: Laura of Amarillo; numerous great grandchildren; also one sister-in-law: Helen Etheredge of Amarillo and numerous nieces and nephews.
