Betty Marie Watts Morgan Hamrick

Betty Marie Watts Morgan Hamrick, 77 of Stratford, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Ulrey, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Stratford Cemetery. Family visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 in the evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Stratford. Betty was born on March 12, 1938 in Fort Worth, TX to Maude Watts. She had been a resident of Stratford for the past forty-five years where she owned and operated Betty's Queen O Cream for seventeen of those years. Betty had many interest and hobbies but she truly loved to bowl. She also took pleasure in working in her flower and vegetable garden. Betty was also an avid Betty Boop collector. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother: David Carpenter; daughter: Betty Ann Morgan; son: Alvin Hamrick, Jr. and husbands: D.D. Morgan and Alvin Hamrick. Betty is survived by daughters: Jan Genn of Memphis, TX and Becky Gomez of Stratford, TX; sons: Douglas Morgan of Ballinger, TX and Allen Hamrick of Dumas, TX; sister: Jackie Carpenter of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren: Adam Genn of Memphis, TX, Heather Ryan and husband Billy of Austin, TX, Joshua Wren of Abilene, TX, Sheldon Hamrick of Stratford and Joseph Gomez and father Armando of Fort Worth, TX. The family will be at 1302 Purnell.
