Betty was born on March 10, 1931, in Erick, Oklahoma to Joe and Nettie May (Daniel) Walsh. On November 17, 1946, she married Len Brown in Allison, Tx and later they moved to Dumas Tx. where they raised their 4 children. She worked for Spudnut, Piggly Wiggly, Cut Rate, and at Safeway Grocery where she retired from. Betty was a wonderful mother and her family was everything to her. Many of her wonderful qualities are seen in her children. Embroidery was a passion of Betty’s, and she often embroidered gifts of such to give her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and spent many hours canning, making meals for the family, and even cooking countless pans of fried pies and peanut brittle for church fundraisers. Betty loved her church and was a very active member of the United Pentecostal Church in Dumas.
Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband Len; sisters: Mildred Johnson and Jean Stinnett; great-grandchildren: Jonathan and Zachary Dhaemers.
She is survived by her children: Sharon Horton and husband Gerald, Peggy Rehkopf and husband Robert, Vickie McCuan and husband Larry, Dale Brown and wife Lori; sister: Charline Brown, along with 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by many other numerous family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests with gratitude that memorials be made to a favorite charity.
