Betty Sue Stevens was born December 7, 1938, in Cherryvale Kansas to parents William and Alberta Holt and received her promotion into heaven on May 9, 2025. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at First Assembly of God with Pastor Kevin Anderson and Wesley Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5 o'clock until 7 o'clock in the evening on Monday at the funeral home.
She met her Husband John W Stevens, the love of her life and they were married in Clayton New Mexico on December 21, 1956.
They built their life together in Dumas Texas and began to raise their family together there before moving to Amarillo Tx in 1978,
Sue was a wonderful homemaker who loved to take care of her family. and was a great servant to all her family making sure they were taken care of before taking care of her own needs. During her years in Dumas, she loved to clean houses and took pride in her work. Sue was always cleaning at her house; she always wanted it to be clean for her family. That spilled over to her time in the nursing home, Hillside Heights, in Amarillo where she kept her bathroom there spotless. The workers there said that she had the cleanest room in the nursing home.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Alberta Holt, Her husband J. W. Stevens and brothers, Bill Holt and Sid Holt.
Sue is survived by her sons Jay Stevens and Michelle Hostutler of Amarillo Tx, Chris Stevens and Wife Sheila of Canyon Tx, one daughter Darla Anderson and husband Kevin of Stratford Tx.
Two sisters Ruth Russell and husband Dwight, Dee Ward and husband Dwayne all of Amarillo Tx, three brothers, John Holt and Wife Brenda of Claude Tx, Gary Holt and wife Vicki of Dumas Tx, Clark Holt and wife Linzi of Dumas Tx.
Grandchildren, April Riley and husband Cory, Leah Hill and husband Andrew all of Lubbock Tx, Wesley Anderson and wife Cassidy of Stratford Tx, Dustin Stevens and Kaitlyn Treadway of Amarillo Tx.
Great grandchildren, Maylee and Brantley Riley, Jaron and Jase Hill, Ryker and Greyson Anderson, Ensley and Meagen and Shawnna Ferguson, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
