Dumas

Beverly Jean Blaine Milligan, 81, formerly of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2025, in Boerne, TX. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, September 5, 2025, at First Baptist Church with Matt Price, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home, and then again on Friday from 1 o’clock in the afternoon until service time at the church.

Beverly was born on October 30, 1943, in Dimmitt, TX, to John and Juanita (Cockrell) Blaine. She attended West Texas State University, where she received her BA in 1966 and her MA in 1971. She married Mike Milligan on August 12, 1966, in Plainview, TX, and eventually they moved to Dumas, after Mike retired from Sears. Beverly had a great love of learning that was accompanied by a special gift of teaching. She enjoyed tennis, family gatherings, and art, especially painting and stained glass. Beverly always put others first, was kind to all she met, and made sure to live her life always mindful of the gift it is. She was grateful for all things and had an ability to help others see the positives, or at least the possibilities, in every situation. Beverly loved her role as a wife and adored her children and grandchildren, carrying on the tradition created by her mother of having the “Magic Purse” for making special purchases “sussies” for her grandchildren. Most importantly, she lived a life that introduced many non–believers to Jesus Christ. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John William “Bill” Blaine.

Beverly is survived by her husband of over 59 years, Mike Milligan; son Pat and wife Erika Milligan, daughter Mollie and husband Brian Fabian, son Matt and wife Lindsey Milligan; grandchildren: Finley, Park, Milligan, Michael, Charles and James; sisters-in-law: Patsy Milligan and Lynn Blaine; nieces: Wendy Blaine, Kara Milligan, Krista Bittner, Becky Blaine; and nephews: James Blaine and Brannon Blaine.
