Brenda Pope, 68 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Bruce Broxson, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Brenda was born on January 18, 1958, in Guymon, OK to John and Mary (David) Barnes. She grew up in Hardesty where she attended school. On November 29, 1981, she married Jerry Pope in Haskell, TX and the couple eventually settled in Dumas where they have resided the last 28 years. Brenda worked in home health and then taught the aquatics class at the YMCA. A lady of character, Brenda, was known for her ornery side. In her younger days, Brenda loved camping, cooking and riding horses. She was of Baptist Faith and will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughters: Ishka and Joni Jean; brother: Johnie.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Jerry, of the home; grandchildren; Carter Hudson and wife Laura, Kyzen Hudson and wife Cassie and Mary Jackson and husband Trenton; great-grandchildren: Isla Hudson, Nixon and Lennon Hudson, Ava Jackson; sisters: Lou Ella Stephens and husband Melvin, Mona Saucedo and husband Tony; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
