Byron Scott DeAnda

Byron Scott DeAnda, 32, formerly of Stratford, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Stratford, with Pastor Michael Rinne officiating. Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Home in Dumas. The family kindly requests that those attending wear bright or happy colors to celebrate the joy Byron brought to those around him. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Byron, better known as “Bubba” to his family and close friends, was born on September 27, 1992, in Dumas, Texas, to Daniel John DeAnda and Janet Saloga. He was raised in Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School in 2011. He was of Christian faith.

Byron was always up for a round of golf, watching or playing sports, or riding his motorcycles. He had a contagious laugh that could fill a room and a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. Byron knew no stranger, he was a friend to all. Byron was known for always staying busy and for being able to do anything he set his mind to. If he didn’t know how to do something, he’d work at it until he got it figured out. His big heart and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He’ll be missed more than words can say.

He is survived by his mother, Janet Garza and her husband Tino of Amarillo, TX; his father, Daniel DeAnda of Stratford, TX; siblings: Jared Saloga of Amarillo, TX, Britney McLeland and husband Braeden of Amarillo, TX, Josh Garza of Amarillo, TX, Tyler DeAnda of Seminole, TX, and Daniel “DJ” DeAnda of Stratford, TX; grandmother, Connie DeAnda of Stratford, TX; grandfather, Robert Smith of Oklahoma City, OK; nephew, Bowen McLeland, and niece, Brecklynn McLeland, who were his world whom he adored greatly and loved to spoil; along with numerous extended family members and friends who turned into family.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother Anita Smith, grandfathers Leland Saloga and Juan DeAnda, and grandparents Eloy and Julieta Garza, 1 aunt and 3 uncles

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be missed deeply everyday.
