Candelario Nevarez, 80 of Dumas passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on December 5, 2021 at Morrison Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 o’clock in the morning on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Garcia as celebrant. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery.Candelario was born on February 2, 1941 in Santa Maria, Mexico to Marcos Sr. and Concepcion (Rivas) Nevarez. He had been a resident of Dumas for many years. He married Eleuteria Salcido in Mexico in 1962; she preceded him in death in 2017. Candelario worked for Cactus Feeder for 20 years until he retired. He loved the outdoors and farm life and after he retired he decided to raise farm animals. Candelario was a loving hard-working man and a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man of strong faith and would do anything for anyone. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Candelario adored his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and loved by his family and all who knew him.In addition to his wife, Eleuteria, he was preceded in death by his parents. Candelario is survived by daughters: Juana Green and Concepcion Borunda both of Dumas; sons: Mario Nevarez and wife Eva, Miguel Nevarez and wife Carol, and Omar Nevarez all of Dumas; sister: Lupe Nevarez; brothers: Armando Diaz, Guadalupe Nevarez, Ramon Murga, Jorge Nevarez, Marcus Nevarez; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren with two on the way.
