Carey Lynn Milligan

Carey Lynn Milligan, 67 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Quita Jones officiating and Pastor Keith Hight assisting. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock in the evening on Tuesday at the funeral home. Carey was born on May 10, 1953, in Seminole, TX to Buck and Glendora (Long) Milligan. The family moved to Dumas when Carey was two and he remained a lifelong Dumas resident. Carey was an outstanding baseball player and was part of the 1971 state champion team. He married Patsy Daves on November 9, 1973, in Dumas. Carey worked for Chesapeake Energy as a Field Service Technician for 32 years until his retirement. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed golf. Carey was preceded in death by his parents. Carey is survived by his wife Patsy of the home; daughters: Kara Milligan and Krista Bittner and husband Matt, all of Dumas; grandchildren: Beckett Bittner and Brolin Bittner; brother, Mike Milligan and wife Beverly of Dumas along with numerous other extended family members. The family suggests with gratitude that memorials be sent to the donor’s charity of choice.
