Cathy Ann Dean, born on September 11, 1948, in Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at her daughter’s home. A memorial service in honor of Cathy will be held on February 27, 2026, at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas, Texas, beginning at 2 o'clock in the afternoon with Bruce Broxson, officiating. The service will be a time for family and friends to gather, reflect, and celebrate her life and the joyous moments they shared. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. 

Cathy was educated at Eauclaire High School, graduating in 1966. Her professional journey was marked by significant contributions as she worked for Montfort as an Assistant Controller and later with Rocking T Transportation in their accounting department. Cathy’s diligence and commitment to her work were commendable, earning her the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

Outside her career, Cathy had a rich array of hobbies and interests. She loved to read, enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, and cherished traveling with Susan, creating memories that will last forever in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Carroll Dean, her loving daughter, Renae Dean, and her cherished grandchildren, Darian Bowling and her husband Josh, Ethan Doan, Drew Lubera and her husband Jared. Cathy is also survived by her brother, Allen Braxton and his wife Alice, and her sister, Diane Brooks. 

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Betty Braxton.

Cathy’s presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the memories of those she loved and who loved her.
