Charles R. Davis, 89, of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Oliver officiating and Pastor Johnny Widener assisting. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. Charles was born on September 3, 1928 in Blair, Ok to Andrew and Lillie (Reese) Davis. He grew up in Blair where he received his education. He married Imogene Hall on November 22, 1946 in Blair, Ok. The couple moved to Dumas in 1947 and raised their three children. Imogene preceded him in death in 1993. He later married Mary on September 14, 1995 in Dumas. Charles worked at Diamond Shamrock as a materials coordinator until his retirement. Charles enjoyed music, especially playing and writing songs. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and will be missed by his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by son: Jerry Davis and daughter: Gloria Holt; brother: Joel Davis; sisters: Bera Dean and Ava Nell Knasinski. Charles is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; son: Dennis Davis of Amarillo; stepchildren: James Edward Warnken and wife Joni Pat of Tres Rios, TX and John Henry Warnken and wife Terry of Everett WA; grandchildren: Chuck Holt and wife Missy of Hugoton, KS, Bill Holt and wife Dusty of Dumas, Dirk Davis and wife Kari of Dallas, Jeremy Davis and wife Amie, Paul Davis and wife Amanda, Cherise Davis all of Amarillo, Niki Thacker and husband Bryan of Pampa, Trevor Davis of Sanford, Kim Shipman and husband David of Amarillo; step grandchildren: Eric Warnken, Louis Warnken, Rick Warnken, Benessa Warnken. all of Ohio, Jovita McLemore of Fritch, Johnathan Warnken of Dallas, Mary Estes of Raton, Ashley Warnken and Mady Warnken, both of Everett, WA; 42 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family members. The family requests with gratitude memorials be made to a favorite charity.
