Claudia Evelyn Colson

Claudia Evelyn Colson, 94 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Dumas Cemetery with Bob Colson, officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 in the morning to 1:30 in the afternoon at the funeral home the day of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Claudia was born on May 7, 1929, to Claude “Whitey” and Pluma (Gravley) Beard. She grew up in the Ron Community and married Floyd Colson on November 17, 1947 in Wellington, TX.  The family moved to Dumas where they made their home.  Claudia was an excellent homemaker who took excellent care of her family.  She loved to play bridge and go to the Senior Citizens Center to play games and enjoy fellowship.  She also loved her grandchildren very much and enjoyed playing games with them and the rest of the family.  Her favorite past time was going fishing.  She was a member of the 6th and Meredith Church of Christ and will be missed by her family and friends. 

In addition to her husband, Floyd, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Jessie McVicker.

Claudia is survived by her children: Sue Colson of Ft. Worth, TX, Phil Colson and wife Patsy of Canyon, TX, Judy Pendley of Dumas, TX; 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family requests, with gratitude memorials be made to 6th and Meredith Church of Christ, 520 S Meredith Ave, Dumas, TX 79029.
