Connie Higley Brown

Connie Higley Brown, 82, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Eugene Polasek, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

She was born on June 17, 1944, in Atchison, Kansas, to Claude and Georgia (McCourt) Higley. On May 17, 1980, she married Doug Brown in Dumas, Texas, beginning a marriage that became an important part of her life and family story. He preceded her in death.

Connie worked as a bookkeeper, bringing dedication and care to her work. Beyond her profession, she found joy in the simple and beautiful things of life. She loved plants, embroidery, and gardening, and she was also a member of a sorority. Above all else, her family was most important to her, a value that shaped her life and the way she was remembered by those who knew and loved her. Connie was a member of Polk St. United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, Doug, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Connie is survived by her brothers: Ed Higley and wife Mike, Tom Higley and wife Polly, sister: Charyle Smith and husband Phil all of Amarillo, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Connie will be remembered for her steady presence, her caring nature, and the happiness she found in home, family, and the interests she cherished. Her memory will be held close by all whose lives were touched by her.
