Consuelo Lara

Consuelo Lara, 75 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Templo Elim Asambleas de Dios. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Consuelo was born on September 1, 1945 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Teodoro and Eduarda (Vasquez) Martinez. She married Rutilio Lara on May 4, 1966; he preceded her in death in 2004. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved to cook for her family. Her favorite hobbies were crocheting and gardening. Consuelos faith and her church were very important to her. She loved going to church as well as reading her bible every day. She was a member of Templo Elim Asambleas de Dios and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. In addition to her husband Rutilio, she was preceded in death by her father, Teodoro Martinez; brother: Paladio Martinez; granddaughter: Azariah A. Martinez. Consuelo is survived by her children; Maria Trejo and husband Esteban of Dumas, TX, Maria L. Medina and husband Alejandro of Dumas, TX, Gerardo Lara and wife Alicia of Amarillo, TX, Maribel Galaviz and husband Abel of Amarillo, TX, Roberto Lara of Dumas, TX, Consuelo Espino of Amarillo, TX, and Arturo A. Martinez and wife Sophia of Dumas, TX; mother: Eduarda Vasquez of Mexico; brothers and sisters; Cresencio Martinez, Maria Martinez, Maria Vasquez Martinez, and Rosendo Martinez; 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
