Danny Paul Jones, 68 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Bible Baptist Church with Brother Johnny Widener, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 o’clock until 4 o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday at the funeral home.  Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Danny was born on November 3, 1953, in Dumas, TX to Melvin and Dorothy (Vaught) Jones. Danny was a lifelong resident of Dumas and graduated from Dumas Senior High School in 1970.  After graduation, Danny enlisted in the United States Army before being medically discharged. Danny worked for Walmart until his retirement in 2018 in the maintenance area and garden center. He was united in marriage to Kimberlea Sheltra on December 22, 2008 in Dumas.  Danny’s hobbies included collecting coins and caps. He also loved kittens and was known for rescuing many of them. Danny was an avid Patriots and Celtics fan. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: sister: Connie Lee Jones Hamrick.

Danny is survived by his wife, Kimberlea of the home; daughters: Elizabeth Jones of San Marcos, TX, Aimee Lynn Walker of the home; son: Jeffrey Ray Walker and Norma Martinez with our grandson Nikolai Sheltra of Dumas, TX; sisters: Judy Jones McDonald and husband Joe of Dumas, TX, Jo Ellen Jobe and husband George of Dumas, TX; one grandbaby on the way. Danny is also survived by numerous other extended family members.
