David Gregory Yelek, 64 of Sherman County, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at First Christian Church with Pastor Tommy Long, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
David was born on November 11, 1961, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Teddy R and Donna (Helzer) Yelek. David lived a life marked by steady dedication, deep love for his family, and an unwavering connection to the land and livestock he cherished. On March 17, 1999, he married Cece, and together they built a life grounded in partnership, loyalty, and shared values. In 2005 they moved from Loveland, Colorado to Sherman County Texas.
David’s career was characterized by his twenty years of service at Cactus Feeders. He was known as a true cowboy. Horses and cattle were not merely his livelihood, but his passion, and through them, David found both purpose and contentment. He was well known for his strong work ethic. He found strength in his deep Christian faith.
Those who loved David will remember him most dearly for his profound devotion to family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cece; his daughter, Andrea Glenn and husband Dustin Glenn; stepdaughter, Katie Green; step grandson, Brennan Lyman. He is also survived by his sister, Suzan Van de Mark, and her husband, Mike; his mother, Donna Yelek; and his stepmother, Charlotte Yelek; sister in law Deborah Chandler and partner, Teresa Cordon, Brother in law Howard Green and wife Kohei, and nieces and nephews, and best friends; Rick Manwell and wife Alisa, Steve Baskin and wife Sandy, Garrett McCargish and wife Amber and children, Connie Seger, Jack and Barbara Haile and many others.
David Gregory Yelek’s life touched many. Whether in the quiet strength of his work, the warmth of his family gatherings, or the camaraderie among friends, he left behind a legacy of integrity, compassion, and love. His memory will be forever cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him.
