Don McCutchan

Don McCutchan, 79, of Dumas, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006, in Dumas. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2006, in the Life Tabernacle Church with Rev. Mark Wallis, officiating. Burial will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Mr. McCutchan was born December 13, 1926, in Bovina, TX and had been a resident of Dumas since 1953. He married Nada Fowlkes on September 18, 1946, in Clayton, NM. Don joined the Merchant Marines in 1944. He worked for Diamond ShamrockValero for 38 years retiring in 1991. After retirement, he enjoyed his woodworking shop. Don was a charter member of Life Tabernacle Church and was involved in the building of the church. He was preceded in death by his son Dorvel McCutchan and great grandson Traydon McCutchan as well as his parents, one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Nada of the home, two sons, Leroy McCutchan and wife Shirley of Dumas and Belvin McCutchan and wife Pam of Borger, TX; two brothers, D. A. Buster McCutchan of Dumas and Bobby McCutchan of Eureka, CA; three sisters, Cuma Frochen of Ukiah, CA, Betty Ledford of Springdale, AR, and Leona Smith of Manteca, CA, one daughter-in-law, Tracy McCutchan of Dumas; seven grandchildren, Corey, Cody, Dallas, Lance, Keena, Caleb, Jordan and 12 great grandchildren. The family requests memorials to Memorial Hospice, 224 E Second, Dumas, TX . The family will be at 513 Bennett in Dumas.
