Donald "Don" Lechner

Donald “Don” Lechner, 86 of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Services will be held at 10 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Private burial will take place in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Don was born on August 24, 1939, in Clayton, NM to George and Lelah (Fudge) Lechner. He grew up in Clayton and graduated from Clayton High School in 1957. Don was united in marriage to Nancy Carol Rae on June 1, 1963, and were married for 62 years until her passing this year. Don worked for several Co-ops where he was the general manager of Sunray Co-op, Petersburg Co-op, Tulia Wheat Growers and Dalhart Consumers. He also served his country in the Texas National Guard.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy and his great grandson Jaxon.

Don is survived by his daughters: Dee Dee Vinson and husband Joe of Amarillo, TX, Kathy Milner and husband Danny of Petersburg, TX; son: Craig Lechner and wife Karen of Amarillo, TX; sisters: Georgia Dimitroff and husband Rodney and Mary Lutes and husband Bill; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
