Dottie Taylor, 85 of Sunray, TX, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Bible Baptist Church in Sunray with Pastor Seth Seale, officiating. Interment will follow at Lane Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.Dottie was born on October 2, 1935, in Duke, OK to Ernest and Myrtle (Green) Hawthorne. Dottie had been a resident of Moore County for over 60 years. Dottie married Gordon Shelby Taylor on May 10, 1952, in Altus, OK and spent the next 33 years with him until his passing in 1985. Dottie was an excellent homemaker, cook and caregiver. One of the many jobs was cooking for the harvest crew and many other folks that Gordon would bring in. Dottie was known and will be remembered for having the most popular candy drawer in Sunray. Dottie was of Christian Faith and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, Gordon, she was preceded in death by her parents; son: Ricky and great grandson Rhett Moore.Dottie is survived by her children: Shelby Taylor and wife Mary, Mitzie Peeples and husband Scott, Mitch Taylor all of Sunray, TX; grandchildren: Gayla Thompson, Brittney Haas, Shawna Ham, Brandon Taylor, Brandi Carnes, Nathan Taylor, Kelsey Taylor, Rachel Peeples, and Michael Peeples; brother: Buddy Hawthorne of Altus, OK; sister: Beverly Bowman of Monahans, TX, 8 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and numerous other extended family members. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care that Ann, Shelly, Alice and Hope have given their family.
