Dovie Lucille Davis Bruce

Dovie Lucille Davis Bruce 92 passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007 in Wellington, Texas. Celebration of life services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 9, 2007 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Turner, former music director of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Dovie Bruce was born January 9, 1915 in Madill, Oklahoma to James M. and Rachel Davis. In 1935 she married Bert G. Dude Bruce. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Dumas since 1952. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and eleven siblings. Survivors include: three daughters, Janetta Hudson and husband, Gerald of Groom; Johnnie Allison and husband, Jim of McLean; Barbara Powell and husband, Ted of Georgetown; son, Gary Bruce and wife, Nancy of Fritch; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. The family wants to express loving thanks to the staff and personnel of Wellington Care Center and Odyssey Hospice of Clarendon.
