Edith Loretta Patterson

Edith Loretta Patterson, 97 formerly of Dumas, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. Graveside services will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in the Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 10 o’clock in the morning until 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Edith was born on July 18, 1928, in Webster County, IA to Raymond and Laura (Lantz) Fulkerson. She grew up in Iowa and graduated from Truro High School and later attended Iowa St. Teacher’s College and after graduation, she taught school in county school for several years. She later worked in various chiropractic offices and nursing homes. She was united in marriage to James Herbert Patterson on July 4, 1947; he preceded her in death in 1992.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Linda, two sisters and two brothers.

Edith is survived by her beloved daughter, Debra Patterson of Amarillo, TX; son: James Patterson and wife Deone of Wassilla, AK along with three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
