Edward H. Stephens, 64, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008 in Amarillo. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Cain and Rev. Dan Turner co-officiants. Burial will be held at 3:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 I-40 East, Amarillo, Tx. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Edward H. Stephens was born March 9, 1944 in Amarillo to Clarence and Ruby Stephens. He worked many years for the Texaco Refinery. From 1996 to 2003 he worked for Moore County Hospital. On January 29, 2005 he married Nancy McPherson in Dumas. Ed loved to help people and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, food pantry and hospice. He was an avid sports fan and coached all ages of children in many sports. He was a longtime resident of Dumas and a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Stephens and son, Brian Edward Stephens. Survivors include; his wife Nancy of the home; sons, Keith Stephens, Jeff Stephens and wife, Angelica all of Amarillo, Devon McPherson of Dalhart; daughter, Krista Turner and husband, Shane of Dalhart; grandchildren, Crystal, Emily, Junior, Alexis, Hayden, Shilah, Matthew and Morgan. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1535, Dumas, TX 79029 or to the American Lung Association, PO Box 26460, Austin, TX 78755 The family will be at 113 Bellaire in Dumas.
