Elaine Ortiz

Elaine Ortiz, 68, of Sunray, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Seth Seale officiating. Interment will follow in Lane Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 o’clock until 8 o’clock in the evening at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Sunray.Ladonna Elaine Ortiz was born in Dumas, Tx on July 8,1953 to Lloyd and Freda (Ritter) Keith. She married Elias Ortiz in Sunray on December 31, 1982. Family was her life and spent many years running a daycare, especially for teacher’s children. She had an abiding love for all of her children and she was known as “Mema” to many. Elaine would spend as much time as possible watching her grandchildren in their sporting events. Elaine enjoyed her family and friends and she especially enjoyed rooting for her favorite teams, the Sunray Cats and Lady Cats. She was deeply faithful to her Lord and Savior as a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Sunray. Elaine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Freda and a great niece, Lacey Vasquez.Elaine is survived by her husband, Elias of the home: sons; Shawn Wilkins and wife Mary of Midland, Tx and Lupe Ortiz and wife Elizabeth of North Carolina; daughters: Tessa Loper and husband Chris of Amarillo, Tx and Mandy Davis and husband Oscar of Sunray; brothers Ricky Keith and wife Debbie and Mike Keith and wife Vickie; sister: Chris Flores and husband Joe; 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.The family suggests with gratitude that memorials be made to St. Judes’ Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th Suite 100, Amarillo TX 79106.
