Ester Leja Valenzuela Cobos

Ester Leja Valenzuela Cobos, 88 of Dumas, went to lay in the arms of Jesus on Friday, December 23, 2022. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Victor Hugo Andrade, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 6 o’clock in the evening at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Ester was born on December 26, 1933, in Presidio, TX to Delphino and Luz (Leja) Valenzuela. She married Victor Cobos, Sr. on April 19, 1948, in Monahans, TX; he preceded her in death. Ester dedicated her life to her children. She loved cooking, sewing, going to church and praying for everyone. Ester was a devout Catholic who read her bible as well as prayed the rosary every day. She also enjoyed going to casinos. Ester will always be remembered and loved as Grandma Cobos. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sons: Joseph Anthony Cobos, Victor Cobos, Jr.; grandsons: Joe Bob Cobos and Levi Gutierrez; daughter: Ramona Torres; granddaughter: Beatrice Torres; son-in-law: Ruben Torres.

Ester is survived by her children: Raymond Cobos and wife Kim of Amarillo, TX, Mary Guevara and husband Fernando of Dumas, TX, Josie Torres and husband Ernesto of Amarillo, TX, Sylvia Flores and husband Fernando of Dumas, TX, Robert Cobos and wife Annie of Dumas, TX, Lucy Gutierrez and husband Ralph of Dumas, TX, and Helen Pillers and husband Terry of Odessa, TX; siblings: Henry Valenzuela, Gilbert Valenzuela, Freddy Valenzuela, and Janie Ramos; 171 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren and 2 on the way.
