Ethel Polk Stovall Sumpter

Ethel Polk Stovall Sumpter of Amarillo, TX passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023. No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Ethel was born on August 14, 1931 in Wood County, TX to Nathan and Millie Cori Polk. She and her husband moved to Dumas, TX. Ethel worked for CIG for several years and then Swift & Co. She retired from Swift in 1991. Ethel was a member of First Baptist Church in Dumas.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Don Stovall in 2000; second husband: Virgil Sumpter in 2021; her parents; 11 siblings some nieces and nephews.

Ethel is survived by her son: Gary Stovall of Dumas, TX; two grandsons: Tyson Stovall of Dumas, TX, Scott Stovall of Amarillo, TX; and numerous extended family members.
