Eugene Ward Samuels, 78 formerly of Dumas, passed away after a long battle with bladder cancer. He was reunited with the Love of his life, Sherry Sue Samuels, on Tuesday, October 26, 2020. Private Services are pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Eugene was born on April 19, 1942 in Talahina, OK to Albert Harris and Evie Mossawese (Tyler) Samuels. On November 16, 1962 he was united in marriage to Sherry Sue Cauthen in Dumas, TX; she preceded him in death on August 30, 2015. Their love and devotion to each other was beyond measure. He worked for Diamond Shamrock and retired from there after 33 years. Faith and family were very important part of Eugene and Sherrys life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to get out any chance he had. Eugene went camping with his wife and any family who wanted to join, which was most of them. Eugene was a true example of a family man. He was an amazing father who loved his family fiercely and deeply. Eugene was a man of God and was a member of Shoals Baptist Church in Grant, OK. He will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, Sherry, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Wes Samuels; son-in-law: Wallace Duane Ditzler. Eugene is survived by his children: Victor Ward Samuels of Grant, OK; daughter: Crystal Sue Samuels Flint of Dumas, TX; son-in-law: Gary Lynn Flint; sisters: Janis Rose Basaluda and Leila Ann Trolinder, Donell Christine Ramos and husband Paul, Marsha Ruth Stagner and husband Roy all of Amarillo, TX; brother: Aaron Samuels and wife Jackie of Hugo, OK; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
