Fate Dwayne Bennett Sr., 66 of Dumas, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He began his journey to Heaven peacefully and without suffering with his children by his side holding his hand. Fate throughout his whole life selflessly gave far more than he ever took. He had a heart of gold, a devotion to loved ones and friends, and a gentle kindness. He selflessly devoted over 45 years supporting his family, always putting their well-being ahead of his own. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of his heart everyday. Fate was able to find the positive in any situation bringing both joy and laughter where it would not normally be found. Fate was born on February 17, 1955 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Dwayne and Leona Bennett. He was baptized accepting Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into his heart at age 8 by his father, a pastor, at Martindale Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas. Fate graduated from Dumas High School in 1973. He worked as a Cat Cracker Operator at Valero and retired after 42 years of service. Fate was a master tinkerer always engrossed in a project giving old things new life. He found deep joy in woodworking and restoring antiques. Fate was a proud conservative, a patriot, and a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment.He is preceded in death by his parents, Dwayne Lee Bennett and Leona (Welch) Bennett and daughter-in-law, Beverly Kaye (Hall) Bennett. Fate is survived by his son, Fate D. Bennett Jr. and wife Monica of San Antonio, TX, his daughter, Jenny L. Armstrong and husband Chad of Dumas, TX, his grandchildren, Keirstin, Estrella, Fate III, Jacey, and Emmy Lou, a great-granddaughter, Aria Enber Rose, and two brothers, Mark W. Bennett of Tulsa, OK., and Rex D. Bennett of Austin, TX.Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Monday, December 13, 2021, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Price officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 o’clock to 5 o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
