Florentino "Tino" Bustamante, Sr.

Florentino “Tino” Bustamante, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, in Dumas, Texas, at the age of 89. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Templo Betel with Pastor Luis Trujillo, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Tino was born on October 16, 1936, in Mexico the youngest of eleven siblings and the treasured son of Estanislao and Higinia (Gonzalez) Bustamante.

Tino’s journey began with humble roots instilled by his hardworking parents. These early lessons of diligence and integrity shaped a man whose presence would touch many. As a young man, Tino built a life founded on resilience, compassion, and unyielding commitment to his loved ones.

For fifty devoted years, Tino shared marriage and partnership with his beloved wife, Carmen Porras Bustamante. Their bond was an enduring testament to love and faithfulness, only parted by Carmen’s preceding passing. Together, they nurtured a family deeply bonded by warmth, respect, and mutual support.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carmen, parents and son-in-law: Raul Gomez.

Above all, Tino was a family man. He is survived by his children: Florentino Bustamante, Jr. of Odessa, TX, Socorro Gomez of Dumas, TX, Cesar Bustamante of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Valerie Lopez, Raul Gomez, Jr., Alonso Gomez, Gaby Gomez, Brianna Bustamante, Devon Bustamante, and Bailey Bustamante; great-grandchildren; Lexi Gomez, Mila Gomez, Remi Gomez, Royce Gomez, Arian Gomez, Zara Gomez, Alec Loya, Alan Loya.

Tino will be remembered by all who knew him as a humble and hardworking man. He found joy in life’s most meaningful experiences: spending precious moments with family and friends, welcoming the company of all he met, and enlivening gatherings with his mastery of storytelling. His generosity of spirit and innate ability to bring laughter and comfort made him a cherished friend and confidant to many.

Florentino “Tino” Bustamante, Sr. leaves a legacy rooted in kindness, humility, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His memory will continue to inspire all blessed to have known him.
