Frank E. Hudson, 82, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in Dumas, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 27, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Chaplain Eddie Tubbs of Buckner International in Beaumont and Rev. Jori Buchenau pastor of Grace Thru Faith Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, 100 Cherry, Dalhart, Texas at 1:00 PM, with flag detail by Amarillo Police Department and Dumas Police Department Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Frank E. Hudson was born July 6, 1926 in Perico, Texas to Willie and Lillie Hudson. He served in the US Coast Guard during WWII, 1943-1946. On February 7, 1953 he married Nema Lee Ratcliffe at Dalhart, Texas. He served as the Chief of Police in Dumas for 33 years before his retirement. He served as Charter President of Dumas Evening Lions Club, Salvation Army Director in Dumas and was a member of American Legion Post 224. Dumas Chamber of Commerce honored him as the Man of the Year in 1974. His passions were his grandsons and great-granddaughters along with fishing, hunting and gardening. Frank had been a resident of Dumas since 1957 and was a member of Texline Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Hazel Tyler. Survivors include; his wife Nema Lee of the home; daughter, Patty Willis and husband Greg of Dumas; grandsons, Jeff Willis and wife, Lindsey of Eunice, LA. and Justin Willis and wife, Leticia of Dumas; brother, Jim Hudson and wife, Judy of Fritch; sister, Bobbie Martin of Big Spring; cousin, John Swanson of Pecos; great-granddaughters, Alison Willis of Eunice, LA. and Madison Willis of Dumas. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Morrison Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029, Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1535, Dumas, TX 79029 or Texline Methodist Church, 301 E. Walnut, Texline, TX 79087. The family will be at 617 Belmont in Dumas.
