Frank Leslie Nelson

Frank Leslie Nelson, 80 of Sunray passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Lane Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Seth Seale, officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening at the funeral home in Sunray. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Frank was born on February 21, 1942 in Santa Rosa, CA to Lester and Verdie Nelson. He married Shirley Brumley on October 2, 1960 in Oregon; she preceded him in death in 2020. Frank worked for the City of Sunray for 14 years until his retirement. He loved talking to people and never met a stranger. Frank was a kind-hearted, giving person who helped numerous people with a place to stay.  He also enjoyed fishing and attended Bible Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Shirley, he was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons: Leon and Allen; brothers: Leroy, George, Ronnie; sister: Mary. 

Frank is survived by his son: Jimmie Nelson and wife Jackie of Sunray, TX; daughter: Sebrina Brown and husband Michael of Sunray, TX; grandchildren: James, Jacob, Travis, Misty, and Heidi and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Ruth, Phyllis, Margie, Esther, Julie.
