Gary Lee Melton

Gary Lee Melton, 69 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Gary was born on October 7, 1955, in Levelland, TX to Judson and Eloise (Stretcher) Melton. He grew up in Whiteface, TX and then married Sue Pemberton on December 21, 1973, in Amarillo, TX and the couple would later move to Dumas where they made their home and raised their family. Gary worked on water wells at Burkett Drilling for 23 years and later went to work for Blue Knight Trucking for 18 years until his retirement. Gary enjoyed swinging at the park, watching wrestling and movies and playing video games with his grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sue Melton of the home; mother: Eliose Mathews of Fort Worth, TX; son: Cody Melton and wife Irma of Amarillo, TX; Lora Olivas of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren: Tyler, Audrey, Fabian, Damien, Jaidyn, Bryan, Janelle, Genevieve, Marcelo, Elida, Fabian, Tiffany and Valerie; brother Doug Melton of Ft. Worth along with other extended family members.
