Guadalupe “Lupe” Pollard was born on March 18, 1930, to Albino Sifuentez and Juana Hernandez Sifuentez.

Lupe’s life was defined by strength, resilience, creativity, and, above all, family. As a single mother, she devoted herself to caring for and providing for her children. Later, she met and married Jim Tom Pollard, and together they joined their families and built an extraordinary legacy. Their family grew to include 10 children, more than 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Lupe was the heart and foundation of her family. She spent her life caring for us and made certain that when any of us faced a time of need, we never faced it alone. She showed up, she provided, she guided, and she loved us with a strength that became the foundation of our family. Her wisdom, resilience, and devotion shaped generations and taught us what it truly means to take care of one another.

She was an artist in so many ways. She grew beautiful gardens filled with flowers and food, shared treasured recipes, embroidered, crocheted, and created with her hands. Perhaps one of her greatest gifts was teaching her family how to make something beautiful and meaningful from whatever they had. If you thought something couldn’t be saved, fixed, grown, or turned into something useful, Lupe would probably prove you wrong. She showed us that having little did not mean having less when there was love, creativity, and family.

Lupe was our matriarch, our foundation, and our solid ground. She was the heart of our family, and the legacy she created will continue to live through all of us.

The strength we carry comes from her. The traditions we continue began with her.

Her children: Linda Gutierrez, Sally Montez/Lupe Montez, Annabelle Shores, Crispin Reyna, Sonovia/Ron Belt, Flora Amy/Anthony Garcia, Shela Brown/Tammie Stone, David/Carrie Reyna, Dale/Sarah Beard, and Danny Pollard, sisters: Julia Miranda of Dumas, TX, and Sara Sanchez of Carlson, CA; half-brothers: Ramon Rivera and Ray Sifuentes of Kearny, NE; half-sister: Rosa Berumem of Kearny, NE.

A special thank you to all the loving support from spouses and extended family.

She is preceded in death by parents Albino Sifuentez and Juana Hernandez Sifuentez, husband Jim Tom Pollard, daughter Sally Montez, daughter Annabelle Shores, daughter Linda Gutierrez, grandson Herbert Olivarez, sisters Maria Gallegos and Julia Miranda.

Thank you for the laughter, the late nights watching I Love Lucy, for bundling us up before bed, and for all the adventures along the way.

Life with you gave us stories we will tell, memories we will laugh about, and love we will carry forever.

Your hands created, your strength carried us, and your love made us a family. You are, and always will be, a part of everything we are.
