Harold Ray Ellis Moore Sr., 83 of Sunray, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 10 oclock in the morning at the Sunray Church of Christ. Private family burial will take place in Brown Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Moore will be available for viewing on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Sunray from 12 oclock in the afternoon until 6 oclock in the evening. The family will then receive friends from 6 oclock until 8 oclock in the evening on Monday at the Sunray Church of Christ in the fellowship hall. Harold was born on August 26, 1935 in Wilson, TX to Tom and Ella (Deason) Moore. He was united in marriage to Karen Cooper on August 30, 1957 in New Home; the couple moved to Sunray in May of 1973 where they would make their home. Harold loved to farm cotton and was a very hard worker. He enjoyed reading, learning about local history and maps. Harold didnt always take the most direct routes to his destinations as he loved to drive the country roads and enjoy the countryside. He was a member of the Sunray Church of Christ and will be missed by his family and friends. Harold was preceded In death by his parents, 16 brothers and sisters, his wife Karen and grandson Mitchell Moore. Harold is survived by his sons: Ellis Moore and wife Sharon of Sunray, Tx, Tom Moore and wife Carolyn of Sunray, TX; daughters: Tracie Anderson and husband Larry of Sunray, TX and Kim Washburn and husband Rob of Cheyenne, WY; sister: Mary Savage of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren: James, Corey, Adam, Steven, Katie, Shane, Kevin, Brady, Hunter, Kacie and Karsen; great grandchildren: Tommee, Reagan, Claire, Grayson, Luke, Cambree, Kashlee, Tony, Joanna, Harper, Lizzie, Rancee, Madi, River, Mitchell and Maya. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hope Flores and the other caregivers who took excellent care of Harold. The family will be at 7338 FM 1573 in Sunray.
