Hector Del Bosque, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 26, 2026, in Amarillo, TX, at the age of 72. Born on August 24, 1953, in Beeville, TX, Hector’s journey was marked by love for family, unwavering dedication, and a life spent nurturing those dearest to him.
Hector’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Julia Del Bosque, who stood by his side through every season of life. Together, they raised a loving family that brought immeasurable happiness to Hector’s days. He is remembered with deep affection by his children: Yolanda Smitz and her husband Andrew, Hector Jr. and his wife Patty, J.R. Del Bosque, James Del Bosque, and Jo Ann White and her husband Timmy. Hector’s legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren—Austin, Kasi, Samantha, Ashley, and Ryder—and his adored great-grandchildren, Lilly, Isabell, Henasi, Athena and Malakai.
The memory of Hector’s guidance and kindness remains strong among his family, who continue to be inspired by the example he set. He was preceded in death by his father Felipe Del Bosque, mother Maria Del Bosque, brothers Phelipe Del Bosque Jr. and Ruben Del Bosque, and his beloved grandson, Phelipe Del Bosque.
Hector’s life was shaped by pride in his roots and a commitment to supporting those around him. The stories of his warm smile, his wisdom, and the unwavering support he offered to family and friends will long be treasured. He had been a resident of Dumas for 53 years. He farmed most of his life and later went to work for Jack's Car Wash. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, CB Radios and Hot Rods. He attended The Church of the Nazarene.
A funeral service honoring Hector’s life will be held at 10 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Swanson officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will recieve friends from 5 o'clock in the afternoon until 7 o'clock in the evening on Monday at the funeral home. Family, friends, and all whose lives Hector touched are invited to join in remembering a man whose devotion and love will continue to echo through the generations.
Though Hector Del Bosque has left this world, his memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
