Irma Renteria Alvarez, 70 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 o’clock in the evening on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Morrison Memorial Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Luis Lopez as celebrant. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Irma was born on May 19, 1955, in San Lucas, Chihuahua, MX to Salvador Alvarez Anchondo and Evarista Renteria Portillo. Irma made her home in Dumas, where she raised her children and poured her heart into her family. She was known for her lively spirit and sharp wit, always ready with a smile or a clever remark. She loved the cool mountain air and found peace by the ocean. Her faith was steady and personal, and she was a devoted member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Above all, Irma loved her family deeply and cherished them with her whole heart.
Irma is survived by her husband, Marcos Escobedo, Jr. of the home; children: Herica Alvarez of Dumas TX, Hesgar Herrera of San Lucas, MX, Sergio Adrian Herrera of Dumas, TX, Saiden Jimenez of Dumas, TX and Junior Jimenez of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren: Adrian Mesael Alvarez, Izela Saide Alvarez, Cristian Blas Alvarez, Gabriella Ules Alvarez, Joel Herrera, Evarista Quintanilla, Lorenzo Herrera, Salvador Herrera, Isaiah Oscar Baeza, Alizandra Isabel Herrera, Azelia Mia Herrera, Zoraya Anahi Lopez, Manuel Xiomar Lopez, Abbigail Yesel Lopez, Dane Stavenhagen Jimenez; 5 great grandchildren; siblings: Genoveva Rodriguez, Elida Smith, Gavino Alvarez, and Herminia Lucero. She’s also survived by her husband’s five children, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
